Recovery Tips from Dr. Amber Elliott

Before Surgery

Taking care of your body before surgery helps you heal better afterward.

Quick Tips:

  • Ensure hydration the day before your surgery, this means your urine is a clear yellow

  • Optimize nutrition, a healthy well-balanced diet is important for wound healing

  • Do not worry about shaving or clipping hair, we will do this for you

  • Shower with special soap the night before

The First 24–48 Hours

You may feel tired, sore, or groggy from anesthesia. That’s normal. Focus on rest, hydration, and following your care plan.

Quick Tips:

• Rest in a quiet, comfortable space

• Stay hydrated

• Take pain medication as prescribed

• Ask for help
